This service starts from the inner hearth, by checking the condition of the flue opening and damper device. Then we begin brushing the inside of the chimney from the base of the flue to the very top of the flue cap. Also inspecting the condition of the liner and fire brick. The Brushes move up then back down for a minimum of two complete passes to remove creosote buildup, ash and any blockage like birds, nest, or other animal remains. This will ensure safety for continued use or we will make recommendations for repair before the next use.
This is for removing ash, soot, and wood remains from the firebox. Included is the complete removal of debris from the inner hearth, all the way inside the fire box to the firebrick. We use a shop vac with filter to get any remaining wood or debris out of the fireplace. That way you are ready to build a new fire or if you are simply changing to Natural Gas and need a firebox cleaning.
This is a service where we get up on top of the roof and look around for any damage or missing shingles especially around or near the chimney. On top we inspect the chimney Crown and Cap along with the mortar/structure condition. Lastly we insure the flue cap is on securely and not missing or in need of replacement; to prevent rain water or small animals from entering the dwelling.
We can also take pictures for your insurance company while inspecting. Our Project Managers can meet on site if you already have an insurance adjuster appointment and need a professional roofer present.
